I live in southern Indiana (quail country, with a few pheasant preserves), and am 82 years old. I am interested in a German shorthaired pointer pup for hunting and companionship.
The terrain here is hilly and somewhat brushy farmland. I have had several German shorthaired dogs. The first one I had as a boy I liked the best. Close working and solid on point. At my age I don't need a pointer that runs me to death or busts coveys.
When (and if, Lord willing) I make it through this Corona virus thing, I would like to get a pup, say, in June or July. My wife probably would favor a female (but not necessary). I would like to try to drive to Minnesota for pickup.
